Take charge of your own healing when doctors aren’t helping or don’t know what’s wrong
Welcome
Beyond self care | Finding answers
Self-care is essential, no matter where you are on the healing journey. For me, it became a priority out of necessity. When I was in pain and could barely function, I had to focus on how to take care of “me.”
Gradually, I started finding answers about how to heal. I so much wanted faster results, but I needed patience, and that wasn’t always easy. Just because something worked for someone else, didn’t mean it would work for me.
Hope for healing
My goal for this site is to provide health resources and share my experiences. I write about my journey to support my body for healing, even when doctors don’t know what’s wrong.
The Bucket and the Ladle
Here’s a story I like to share that a naturopath told me many years ago. It helped me have an awareness about my energy and how important self care is.
Imagine you have a bucket that is filled with water. The water represents your energy. Every time you help someone else, whether that be kids, spouse, or a friend in need, you dip into your bucket and “give” them a ladle of water. If you don’t take care of yourself, over time, the water level in the bucket gets lower and lower. Eventually you don’t have anything left to give to anyone else, because your bucket barely has enough in it for you.
This blog is here to help you put water back into your bucket.
Enjoy!
